I believe that’s the same region as the Montego.
I gotta dig out my window sticker and get a good pic or a scan of it.

I do believe that’s where it was built.
Then first sold in NJ, it didn’t make it’s way out to Michigan until late 90’s early 2000’s

I wish I had a build sheet for my 68, but 99% of the LA built cars didn't get one tossed in and Chevy never kept records. The Norwood plant had lazy workers and most got stuffed into the cars somewhere.

No mainly just paint and body work. The chassis and interior are unrestored with only 39,000 original miles. Though the motor is #s matching. The problem is trim tags on 68s are useless. In 67 they had all the options listed so you can easily confirm things like it being a big block 4 speed car. In 68 they just state exterior and interior colors. You need a build sheet or window sticker to prove the car at concourse shows

Yep, also looked on top of the gas tank, from talking with a few different experts in the Camaro field pretty much all of the LA built Camaros never left the factory with a build sheet. It was actually protocol to toss them in the trash. The workers at Norwood were just lazy because it's spotty on cars that had build sheets.

Basically.
There’s the PCV valve, and then a hose that leads down towards the bottom of the engine that just spits shit on the ground when it’s built up in there.
Leaves the bottom of the engine/transmission a mess though.
That’s it, that’s what it does with that gunk or excess- it doesn’t try and re-burn it, it doesn’t try and put it back in the motor. It throws that shit on the ground.

This is a year old, but you got that backwards. Norwood cars rarely had buildsheets. LA cars were more likely to. Either that, or I need to yank the tank (hehe) off of my grandfather’s, because I know it wasn’t under the seat. All my reading indicates Norwood built cars never had them though.

no, the CRG (Camaro Research Group) that specializes in documenting first gen Camaros, and has former line workers testimonies, that very few if any LOS built cars had build/broadcast sheets stuffed in them in 67/68. there are a handful of 69's. Most all found broadcast sheets are found in NOR cars. there were 2 sheets used on the assembly line, the chassis broadcast sheet and Body broadcast sheet. The chassis is the one to be usually found on top of the gas tank, and the body was in the seats or headliner. The body was mainly used for the various trim and interior options, while the chassis was all the suspension and drivetrain stuff. I have yet to find a LOS built car to have its original sheets, you can buy new blanks and make your own.

Color me corrected. I wonder if the chassis sheet’s still in mine.

if the tank has ever been dropped in its history, its long gone. most that have survived today were found in the late 70's or in a car that has been garaged all its life. they didn’t last very long if the car was in the elements for any length of time.

Probably gone. I don’t know if the tank’s been dropped. It’s got a bigass dent, which gives me hope, since a resto type would’ve fixed that.
